The Florida Gators take on the Auburn Tigers this Thursday night in a matchup of teams from the SEC. Tip-off from the Auburn Arena is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
It has been an up and down week for Florida as it is coming off a disappointing 72-69 loss to South Carolina this past Monday as an 11 ½-point home favorite after pulling out an 81-75 overtime victory against Tennessee as a three-point road underdog this past Saturday. The Gators are now 13-4 straight-up and 5-8 against the spread on the year. They are 2-1 SU in the SEC.
Erving Walker leads the Gators in scoring with 14.5 points per game, while Vernon Macklin and Chandler Parsons are each averaging over six rebounds a game. Florida is averaging 71 points and 38 rebounds a game and shooting 46.9 percent from the field.
Auburn’s basketball season has gone nothing like its football season as the Tigers are currently 7-10 SU and 3-5-2 ATS. They fell to Mississippi State 85-66 as a 10-point road underdog this past Tuesday to remain winless in the conference as 0-3 SU.
One bright spot has been the play of Earnest Ross, who leads the team with 12.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Auburn is shooting a dismal 39.7 percent from the floor and 65.2 percent from the foul line. The Tigers are managing just 64 points and 36 rebounds per game.
Florida has won nine out of the last 10 meetings SU and is 4-2 ATS in the last six. Do not be concerned with giving up 13 points on the road as the Gators will roll in this one.
The Pick: Florida -13
