ATS Matchup Insight | CP Insider Gambling Preview

Kansas

There is no doubt this team has the potential to be very good but it is only mid January and they have already dropped a season’s worth of games including a surprising loss at home to a non-conference opponent.

They are 2-0 in the B12 so far but this will be be their toughest league challenge yet.

The entire Kansas roster is littered with players leaving you wanting more.

That starts at the top where heralded freshman Andrew Wiggins has proven that he is an elite athlete and not much else, even though he leads the team in scoring. The same goes for SG Wayne Selden who is the team’s best shooter but is only averaging 10ppg.

With the talent they have though this team could be one of the toughest outs come March because it is all their under the surface.

Kansas dominates the B12 and they have started 2-0 SU and ATS in league play. Going on the road against a team as good as Iowa State is going to be tough but seeing the Jayhawks in the underdog role is so tempting. My hope is that is gets bet up to +3 or more than Kansas is almost a no-brainer in terms of value.

Iowa State

This is a huge game for the Cyclones. They raced out to a 14-0 start but just lost their first game of the season on the road at Oklahoma. To win the league they are going to have to take care of Kansas on their home turf so there will be a lot of pressure on this team to bounce back.

They just might have to play their best game of the year so far. I think they will be up for it and it should be very entertaining.

The Cyclones just might have the best frontcourt in America. Between Melvin Ejim, Georges Niang and Dustin Hogue they average better than 45 points and 20 rebounds per game. Hogue has especially been a bright spot leading the team in rebounds in his first year in the program.

The only knock on these guys is that they don’t have a lot of length. They are all very physical but they might be bothered by KU center Joel Embiid who is a legit 7 feet.

Not only have the Cyclones built up a great SU record but they have been making money too at 9-4 ATS. That includes a great start at Hilton Coliseum which is probably underrated in terms of the most difficult places to visit.

I know Kansas probably has more talent but it is hard not to like the home team in this one.

Spread Pick: Iowa State -2
O/U Pick: N/A
Score Prediction: Iowa State 83 – Kansas 75
