Oddly there lone win was what should have been their toughest game, a visit to Georgetown in which they dominated the Hoyas.  Right now this team is hard to get a handle on so play carefully.

Pitt is still waiting for highly touted center recruit Steven Adams to become a factor.  He rebounds the ball alright but other than that is not a consistent contributor.

They were expecting to be one of the top freshmen in America and maybe even lead the team in scoring so the 6ppg he is bringing will have to improve if they want to reverse their recent trends.

The Panthers really should be more effective on offense with a senior experienced point guard like Tray Woodall running the attack.

The Panthers are 4-6 ATS on the season and 1-3 in conference play.  In all three of their losses they were the favoured team which is not a good sign heading into Wednesday’s game in a tough environment in Philly.

This is a conference where it is very tough to win on the road so when you see a home dog you take notice.

Villanova

Villanova is always a team that I am higher on than I probably should be.  When they are good they can be fantastic and this year they are a solid sleeper, certainly a team that can beat any opponent on their home floor.

They are 2-1 in Big East play so far and a perfect 3-0 ATS in the league.  They lost at Syracuse last time out but so will everybody else this year.  I like this team’s mix and their coach. [ad-6571516]

The Wildcats have their own big man dilemma with Mouphatou Yarou.  He has been on campus for four years now but still struggles to consistently contribute despite physical gifts.  Meanwhile JayVaughan Pinkston continues to grow his game – you can see what all the hype was about when he committed.

In Ryan Arcidiacano coach Jay Wright has another fearless playmaker in the Scottie Reynolds mold.

Villanova is a fantastic 9-3-1 ATS coming into this one.  I was surprised the Panthers were getting so much respect as I would have made this game a pick.

As a result you have to punch that ticket for Villanova who I expect to win outright.
