Now they have to regroup and try and beat a team that they have lost two twice already this season. The matchup between small guards Porter and Jerome Randle will be key. If Porter can win this matchup by a significant margin then Oregon can stay in the game and hope. If not the talent differential at the other spots is grossly in favour of the Bears.
Cal has likely secured a spot in the tournament regardless of their conference tourney performance but a loss to Oregon would give the bracket makers something to think about. This is highly unlikely give the recent series history and talent imbalance between the two squads. Jerome Randle is a nice scoring PG but this team gets production from other sources as well with four players scoring in double figures. This is a very good shooting team, especially from the free throw line so if Oregon keeps it close this time this may come into play. Tournament play is exhausting but Oregon could easily be out of gas. If Cal jumps out early they might just give up.
