Team records:
Kansas State: 22-4 SU, 14-6-1 ATS
Texas Tech: 16-10 SU, 12-8 ATS

The No. 6 Kansas State Wildcats will visit United Spirit Arena in Lubbock to take of the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The Wildcats beat Texas Tech 85-73 in Manhattan last year about this time.  K-State dominated in most phases of the game and the Red Raiders were only able to keep it at a respectable margin because they outscored teh Wildcats by 10 at the foul line.

In the year of the Wildcats (3 in the top ten) the most surprising is Kansas State.  They are riding their exceptional backcourt of Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente to heights not even seen during the short lived Beasley era.  The reason:  They are getting better than expected support from a frontcourt of athletic players none of whom are highly touted frosh Wally Judge.  The trio of Curtis Kelly, Jamar Samuels and Dominique Sutton are providing about 30 points and 15 boards a game and when they win the battle up front this team is very hard to beat – their three conference losses are by a total of 12 combined.  They will look to add to their current 5 game win streak and keep the hope for a number one seed alive on the road tonight.

The Red Raiders are also exceeding expectations just not as robustly as K-State.  They enter tonight with a 13-3 home record having lost their last two at home in crushing fashion and last three overall.  To have any hope of making the Tournament they need to snap out of their funk and put on a performance similar to the one that beat Washington on this same home court earlier in the season.  In that overtime thriller John Roberson led with 25 points and he and running mate/leading scorer will have to match the production of Pullen and Clements for Texas Tech to have a shot.  Sports Betting at the Sportsbook Roberson is coming off a pitiful 2 point performance in a close loss to Texas but fellow guard had his best game of the year with 21 points and might be finding the form that made him a double digit scorer as a freshman

Kansas State will jump out fast but Texas Tech will not give up on their home court.  A late run will make it a respectable loss to one of the top teams in the country.

Final score K-State 77, Texas Tech 70
