The Cowboys are a confounding team. They have a lot of talent but it doesn’t always shine through. I am not sure if it is because of youth or whether the pieces are not quite perfectly matched.

Either way I love these guys when they are in an underdog role because they can be fantastic.
To date in conference play lost on the road and won at home. They will look to break that trend on Monday night.

With some very good recent play, athletic guard Markel Brown has become the Cowboys top scoring threat. He is one of 4 perimeter players averaging double figures. He, LeBryan Nash, Marcus Smart and Phil Forte form maybe the deepest guard rotation in the nation. None are outstanding but all shoot it pretty good, especially from the line – they are all better than 76% from the stripe making these guys a tough out late in games.
This is a tough one because I like both of these teams as sleepers in the Big 12.
As much as I like the Cowboys though there are too many matchups against Baylor that I think favour the Bears.
This should be a fantastic game with the winner getting the upperhand in qualifying for the Tournament.
Baylor
The Baylor Bears love to tease you. They challenged a very good Gonzaga team on the road and have just one Big 12 loss but they lost a home game to Northwestern – how does that happen? To me there is no team they can not beat and they can mix and match playing really big or little bit smaller and quicker.
They don’t seen to have the magic they have had the last couple of seasons when they have stolen some games. [ad-6571516]
The Cowboys have some really good guards but I am not sure they have someone to really guard Bears point guard Pierre Jackson. Jackson has emerged as the top scoring option while still running the rest of the team. Another tough matchup is freshman center Isaiah Austin.
He has had a double-double in 2 of 4 league games and has become more consistent scoring 10 or more in the last 8.
It is not a good indicator that Baylor is just 1-4 ATS at home this season. This tea has had some interesting performances as they seem to let their opponents dictate style instead of setting the pace themselves. That might be why the home record is so unimpressive.
They aren’t great foul shooters either.
