NCAAB: GRIFFIN THE KEY TO PROFITS

The #4 Oklahoma Sooners have been making their backers lots of cash on the road – as long as Blake Griffin is playing.

Fourth-ranked Oklahoma is 5-1-1 against the spread on the road in the Big 12 as they get ready to play the #15 Missouri Tigers on Wednesday night. The one loss has a giant asterisk next to it because it was played without their superstar Griffin.

Griffin missed most of a road game at Texas and a home game versus Kansas due to a concussion. The Sooners lost both games, their first loses they went down to defeat against Arkansas on December 30th.

A win on Wednesday against Missouri will not be easy as the crowd will be extra pumped for this 9 pm ET telecast.

Griffin’s first game back was last Saturday at Texas Tech, and the team came away with a 78-63 win as 8 ½-point chalk. He didn’t show any lingering effects of the concussion with 20 points and 18 rebounds and there’s no reason to think he’ll be less than his brilliant self in this game.Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

Oklahoma (26-3, 12-2 Big 12) trails Kansas by one game in the Big 12 standings but they should get a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament if they win their final two regular season games and the Big 12 tournament. The NCAA selection committee understands that Griffin was out for those two losses and will give them the benefit of the doubt.

And while this is a huge game for the Sooners, it’s equally big for Missouri (24-5, 11-3 Big 12).

The Tigers got humiliated in their last game on Sunday, 90-65 at Kansas. That game broke a three-game winning streak straight-up and ATS. Missouri is also a very good team at home with a 7-3 ATS record overall.

Missouri wants to push the tempo on every possession in this game and they will press like crazy on the defensive end. Forwards DeMarre Carroll and Leo Lyons are the leading scorers on the team at 17.1 PPG and 14.5 PPG respectively.

However, Missouri likes to shuffle a lot of bodies in and out to fuel their frenetic pace and they hope to wear down the Sooners who don’t play as many men. There’s also the issue of Sooners’ standout guard Willie Warren, who only played 12 minutes in the last game after being benched for an ‘attitude adjustment’.

Can Missouri use its style of play and the home crowd to ruin Oklahoma’s chance at a number one seed?
