Demons vs Gators South Region Spread/Handicapping
At one point Florida was in the conversation about the best teams in the nation. They sputtered for a while though which is why they have only a #3 next to their name. There were clearly the best team in the SEC but that might not be saying all that much, especially after they lost in the SEC tourney final to Ole Miss.

Florida
I still like this team a lot and coach Billy Donovan is good at getting the most out of his guys this time of year.
The Gators have a productive lineup that can burn you inside and out. Erik Murphy may not look like much but he is one of the most efficient scorers in the country. If guard Kenny Boynton rediscovers his game this team could improve dramatically on the offensive end. His shooting has been awful most of the season.

He has 5 20+ point games but none since the middle of January.
Florida won and covered in all three of their tournament wins last season before eventually falling to Louisville. The Gators have been only 16-14 ATS this season, despite the fact they were just throttling conference foes for a while there.
Florida is one of my top picks for the Final Four they should cruise in this one.
Northwestern State
Northwestern State qualified out of the Southland Conference. They were second in the league during the regular season but won the bid fair and square by eliminating Stephen F. Austin in the conference tournament. The Demons didn’t play against a ranked team all season long. [ad-6571516]
No surprise, they lost all of their games against power conference teams, going 0-4 against the SEC and BIg 12.
The Demons might hang in a little bit if they can get the tempo of this one where they would like. They have four scorers in double figures led by forward DeQuan Hicks who even though he is only 6’7” is more of an inside player. They are thin on the inside so look for Florida to try and establish Patric Young in the post.
If they can force the Gators into doing that it might be effective because that is out of character for the Gators.
Hard to find anything in the numbers on the Demons. They have had only 7 lined games over the past 5 season.
They were 1-2 ATS this season, the lone win being their upset victory over the Lumberjacks in the Southland tournament (they won by two).
Not much hope of an upset in this one.
