Northern Iowa Panthers vs. Creighton Blue Jays Free Gambling Prediction & CBB Preview

Panthers vs Blue Jays CBB Basketball Spread/Handicapping

The Northern Iowa program is kind of what started a nationwide fascination with the Missouri Valley Conference.  For years this program was feared though now it is Creighton and Wichita State that are the beasts of the MVC.

Northern Iowa

The last three games in this series have been 3 pointers and UNI won at home last season.  You can bet Creighton is aware of this and looking to make sure a slipup doesn’t hurt their eventual tourney seeding.

The Panthers are coming off their best performance of the season, a mauling of Bradley.  Guard Marc Sonnen was on fire from three and kept shooting all the way to seven makes from deep.

If they are going to upset the Blue Jays they are going to need something similar Tuesday night.  They are going to also need the burly forward Jake Koch to stand tall in the middle and be strong against the Creighton bigs.

He is physical but sometimes the production is light.

UNI is 2-3 ATS in conference play.  They shocked Illinois State winning as 8.5 point dogs on the road but other than that have been playing to form.

They are getting all of their tough road games out of the way early it seems but this is the toughest one of all.  They might hang in there for a while but I wouldn’t bet on it.

The Blue Jays are rolling and it is quite possible that their only blemish this season will be a shocker at Boise State. [ad-6571516]

No disrespect to the Broncos but there is a number next to Creighton’s name and this ain’t football.  Since opening MVC play the Blue Jays have barely been challenged.  No game has been closer than 8 points.

Hopefully they are not looking ahead to Wichita State on Saturday.

Forward Doug McDermott just dropped 39 points on Missouri State in their last game.

It is the second time in 5 MVC games he has chipped in a double-double and the 4th time he has scored 30 or more.  One thing to worry about is the Blue Jays depth.  Only Gregory Echenique also averages double figures in points.

This team is #2 in FG shooting and #1 in three point shooting so perhaps I am nitpicking.  They don’t seem to have much trouble generating offense.

With their high scoring offense Creighton has amassed a fantastic 12-3 ATS record.

They have been favoured in every game but one this season and even though historically UNI plays them tough this is still a pretty good number as the Panthers struggle to score.  Not huge value but playable.
