North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Duke Blue Devils

All the marbles will be on the line Wednesday night in another fantastic college basketball betting affair when the North Carolina Tarheels (21-2, 9-12 ATS) invade Cameron Indoor Stadium to do battle with the Duke Blue Devils (20-3, 11-10-1 ATS). Not only are state and conference bragging rights on the line, but the ultimate prize of a #1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament is potentially on the line as well. The Dookies come into this basketball betting extravaganza 7-2 SU and 4-5 ATS in the ACC, while the Tar heels boast an identical 7-2 SU but dismal 3-6 ATS mark in conference play.

Both of these teams are amongst the favorites to cut down the nets in April. Carolina is the overwhelming favorite in the Bookmaker March Madness betting odds, as +250 chalk. The Dookies are the fourth choice on the board at 13-1.

It should come as no surprise that the Heels have been lined as 1.5-point road favorites in tonight’s CBB betting battle with the ‘total’ set at 157.

UNC head coach Roy Williams doesn’t care about his clubs failure in the pointspread department this season, but he has to be ecstatic that his Heels have won seven straight games after opening up ACC play with a pair of defeats. UNC disposed of both Virginia and Maryland without any troubles last week, but couldn’t overcome the hefty spread in either game.

Carolina still boasts the second ranked scoring offense in the nation averaging a whopping 92.3 points per game even though the 76 points it just posted against the Wahoos was its lowest point total of the season.a href=”http://www.bmaker.ag/?cmpid=3052_391″>

You can’t talk about the Heels without mentioning F Tyler Hansbrough first. The senior averages 22.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, and has had a great history against the rival Blue Devils. Expect another big game from G Ty Lawson as well, who leads the squad in assists, steals, and three-point shooting percentage.

It was rough to be a Cameron Crazy last week. The Dookies were taken behind the woodshed by the Clemson Tigers in Littlejohn, and then were pushed to the brink by Miami before pulling out the OT victory. Only six players were used in the 2nd half and overtime against the Canes, which could make the squad weary in spite of their 78-75 win.

The Blue Devils enter this game on a bit of a lull for their NCAA basketball bettors, as they have failed to cover the spread in three of their L/4 games. The trio of F Kyle Singler, G Gerald Henderson, and G Jon Scheyer pace the Devils. All three average double digits in scoring, and have also combined to average 17.0 rebounds and 19.4 assists per game.

The CBB betting trends offer some mixed possibilities in this game. The underdog is 12-3 ATS in the L/15 meetings between these arch rivals, but Carolina is 8-2 in its L/10 visits to Cameron Indoor. Surprisingly, the road team has won five of the L/6 games in this series with Carolina covering in five of those six games.
