New Mexico Lobos vs. SDSU Aztecs Free Gambling Prediction & CBB Preview

Lobos vs Aztecs CBB Basketball Spread/Handicapping

The Lobos are good but I don’t think anybody thought they would be leading the Mountain West this season. So far they are undefeated in conference play having already beaten UNLV and looking to get a leg up on San Diego State after this weekend.

New Mexico

If they do, they will really be in the driver’s seat.

In conference play they are 4-0 ATS too and this is a decent value spot on Saturday even though they are on the road.

New Mexico doesn’t have a lot of star power but that is only because most don’t appreciate how good Kendall Williams and Alex Kirk are.  Williams, a junior guard, keeps improving his production every year and had room to grow even further this season as his shooting has been spotty thus far.

Kirk is a legit 7 footer whose game keeps expanding, if he hadn’t grown up in the state he would probably be playing on one of the coasts at a higher profile program.

Short spread makes this one really tough to call.  The Lobos are definitely capable of upsetting the Aztecs who have not been great about on their own home floor.

But if you anticipate a close game like I do a 2 or 3 pointer can turn into a 7 point margin so easily.  I think you have to back the favourite or take a pass.

San Diego State

San Diego State is a fine team but one with flaws, which have become evident in some of their losses.  They are not a great shooting team and don’t have the length they had had in recent past successful seasons. [ad-6571516]

Their struggles may make them a better bet the rest of the way as public perception is kind of low right now with them on the fringe of the national rankings.

This could be a good spot for them on Saturday.

Wing Jamaal Franklin is a real stat stuffer.  He averages almost 18 points per game and even though he is only 6’5” he is close to 10 boards per game too.

All four of the Aztec’s leading scorers are guards so it will be interesting to see how they handle things inside the paint against Kirk and Co.  If they can’t then it could be upset city unless the guard play really well in this one.

Franklin needs to get more efficient with his shooting.

SDSU is looking to rebuild come confidence and some credibility here.  Some thought they might be the top dog out West and right now they are only third in their own conference.

A win would knock the Lobos down a peg and with only a small number to cover the Aztecs are the wiser play Saturday.
