College Basketball Betting – Wildcats look to get act together against Mountaineers

College basketball betting players may have lost some faith in Villanova, who has been inconsistent down the stretch. The Wildcats will host West Virginia on Saturday in their regular-season finale, and a win for either would be great momentum to take into the always-tough Big East tournament.

West Virginia vs Villanova odds – Saturday, March 6, 12:00 PM ET

The No.10 Mountaineers (23-6, 12-5) got 22 points from Da’Sean Butler in his final home game at West Virginia, who came away with an 81-68 win over Georgetown. Devin Ebanks added 15 points while Kevin Jones notched 14 points for the Mountaineers, who forced 20 turnovers out of the Hoyas, while committing just eight themselves. The Mountaineers also held an edge at the free-throw line, making 27-of-34 attempts, while Georgetown was 14-of-21. West Virginia has now won four of their last five and like Villanova, they will go straight to the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament.

After getting whipped at Syracuse, the No.9 Wildcats (24-5, 13-4) fought hard for a 77-73 win at Cincinnati, and it was a typically balanced attack that won this game for Villanova. Scottie Reynolds led six players in double figures with 17 points, and the Wildcats hit 10 of their 21 three-point attempts. Villanova also grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck at the foul line, where they made 25 of their 35 attempts, while Cincinnati was 14-of-21. Bookmakers (bookmaker odds) are looking for a reason to give Villanova a chance, and they’re still a good team, but the Wildcats need a big performance in this game.Sports Betting at the Sportsbook

The Wildcats will be favored at home, as they are 13-1 at the Pavilion, while West Virginia has dropped big games at Pitt and UConn recently. West Virginia has dropped seven of their last nine at Villanova, and they’ll be out to avenge an 82-75 loss to the Wildcats at home on February 8th. Reynolds had 21 points in that contest as the Wildcats shot a blistering 56.9% from the field, and they outrebounded the Mountaineers 37-27.

West Virginia made just 18 of their 32 free-throw attempts, and they’ll improve that. Also, they’ll get a better game from Butler, who had 13 points but shot just 2-of-12 from the field. The Mountaineers have a size advantage over the Wildcats  that they failed to take advantage of in the last meeting at home, but they’ve been playing more patiently since back-to-back losses against Pitt and Villanova.

Meanwhile, the Wildcats have a lot of work to do if they’re going to prove to sports wagering players that they’re worth a shot in the NCAA Tournament. Take the Mountaineers for the revenge upset.
