Michigan Wolverines vs. Wisconsin Badgers Gambling Prediction & CBB Preview

Wolverines vs Badgers A-10 Tourney Spread/Handicapping

The Wolverines are the second highest ranked team in the conference despite finishing tied for fourth in the standings.  As a result they didn’t get a bye like Wisconsin even though they were tied with them.

Michigan

They played yesterday against Penn State, beating handily a team that shocked them during the regular season.

If this is a sign that the Wolverines are focused and ready to go the nation better watch out.

Trey Burke hasn’t scored less than 18 points in a game since February 5.  He is just one of the many talented players the Badgers will need to corral if they are going to upset the Wolverines.  The last time these teams played the Badgers one in part by doing a number on everyone but Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr.

Freshmen Glenn Robinson III and Nick Stauskas could be the real difference makers in this one.

In terms of talent the Wolverines are probably among the top 10 in the nation.  I like their coach and with a short number against almost any team I like BIg Blue because they generally score the ball really well.

But this is Wisconsin so you may have to throw all conventional wisdom out the window.

Wisconsin

Wisconsin is always out there looking for respect.  Yes they are the 22nd ranked team in the nation and will be playing somewhere in the field of 68 next weekend but everyone overlooks them.  They should have Michigan’s attention given they beat Big Blue during the regular season but they haven’t played since Sunday when they were less than impressive at Penn State.

This should be an interesting game. [ad-6571516]

The Badgers certainly don’t wow you with talent.  From game to game you don’t know what you are going to get because they are so unselfish and all their players play within their system.  Still it is usually all about the killer Bs.  Berggren, Brust and Breusewitz are usually in the mix one way or another when they win.

This is a team that might be athletically challenged but they actual box out and rebounds the ball.  It will be key.

Wisconsin always makes you work and sometimes teams like Michigan don’t like to.  They want the game to have flow and nobody disrupts it like the Badgers.

They certainly have a chance in this one but I think the talent divide will show in a game that has no real implications other than seeding
