ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

Both sides are undefeated and moved up in the latest AP poll, meaning one side could be in for a major letdown if they fail to bring their A-game.

This contest features a pair of high-scoring teams that can run opponents out of the gym. Oklahoma State is fourth in the nation with 102.3 points per game, while Memphis ranks 16th after scoring 95 points in their opener.

Oklahoma State’s three wins on the year have come by an average of 47 points, with the latest coming over the Arkansas-Pine Bluff by a score of 97-63.

The Cowboys’ top weapon had an off night, as sophomore Marcus Smart converted on just 3 of 9 field goal attempts, including four misses from beyond the arc, but did hit on 10 of 14 free throw attempts to end the night with 16 points.

The team got most of their scoring from Markel Brown and Phil Forte, who each chipped in 22 points.

The Cowboys hit on 51.7 percent of their shots from the field, including 40 percent of their shots from long range, but they’ll surely want to work on their 65.9 percent free throw percentage.

The team had a tougher time than they would have liked at the defensive end of the court, allowing the Golden Lions to hit on 41.4 percent of their shots from the field, including 44.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

Memphis had a high-scoring opener as well, putting up 95 points in a 95-69 win over Austin Peay.

The Tigers got their points with a very balanced offensive attack. Six players reached double-figures, with guard Joe Jackson leading the way with 16 points. As a team, the Tigers shot 53.6 percent from the floor, and 70.8 percent from the charity stripe.

The team’s 21 turnovers is an unacceptable number and one the coaching staff has surely tried to correct leading up to this game.

Defensively, the Tigers allowed the Governors to shoot 46.0 percent from the field and bring in eight offensive boards. One positive for the team is that they generated 15 steals, including four apiece from Michael Dixon Jr. and Chris Crawford.

It’s very difficult to stay away from Oklahoma State in this one, but it’s important to look at the quality of their competition before getting too excited about them.

The team will be getting their first real taste of competition in this game, and don’t be surprised if Memphis gives them a run for their money.

The Tigers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven non-conference games.

The play: Memphis +6
