Gonzaga

The Zags are flying in high, they have won 8 in row and have not lost a road game yet this season.

They have earned that #8 next to their name by beating a number of quality opponents.

The more I see of this team the more I am impressed.  How many players are there 6’9” or taller in America averaging 7ppg or more?  The Zags have three of them.

How many senior power forwards are there who have multiple all conference team awards? The Zags have one of those too.

The Zags are loaded and I have run out of room to talk about one of the best guard tandems around, Kevin Pangos and Gary Bell Jr.

The Zags catch a break due to an injury to the Bulldogs leading scorer but I am not sure it would have made all that much of a difference.  As a short favourite, even on the road, I think Gonzaga is a great value play this weekend.

This team is tough and might not lose another game all season long.

Butler

The Bulldogs are sneaking up there in the polls.  They haven’t lost an A-10 game yet (technically) and they have as nice a group of non-conference wins as anybody:  Indiana, North Carolina, Marquette.

It looks like they picked the perfect time to make the conference leap and will be a factor in their first season.  They have won 12 in a row and even though this matchup is great, they can afford to lose it. [ad-6571516]

Butler has pretty good depth too but they will be missing their lead dog as 3 point bomber extraordinaire guard Rotnei Clarke has a neck injury.  This is a setback for sure but I am more concerned with their ability to handle Gonzaga inside.

Center Andrew Smith is having a nice season and has some size but he might be overwhelmed with just how much of it the Zags can throw at him.

This Butler team is hard to read.  They are a fantastic 10-5 ATS with a couple of big upset wins already…but they are just 3-3 ATS at home.  With Clarke out of the lineup I just don’t see how they are going to keep this one close.

Sure they are going to compete, they always do.

How about a rematch in the Final Four.
