Oklahoma

The public is still trying to determine the level of this year’s OU squad.

When they went down to Austin and just destroyed Texas it looked like they might be in the race for the B12 title but then they followed up with losses to Kansas State and West Virginia.

Tonight they have another big road test at Kansas. When the Sooners are right they can be very explosive but they do not have a ton of depth.

They are going to need their stars to shine if they want to beat the Jayhawks.

Shoot Buddy Hield is hot right now, scoring 20 or more points in 4 of his last 5 games.

This is a talented team but he is the key because the rest of the lineup are players who are productive but limited.

When he can stretch the defense with his three point shooting it opens things up on the inside, especially for the offensive rebounding talents of Ryan Spangler and Tashawn Thomas.

Kansas

Though they probably haven’t been as high or as low as Oklahoma Kansas is also still a bit of a mystery at the moment.

Both of their losses have been of the beatdown variety which is something you usually just can’t say about the Jayhawks.

Until someone takes it from them you have to assume that they will win another B12 regular season title though the race this season is shaping up as one of the best I can remember, thanks to the emergence of teams like Oklahoma.

There is a lot of talent on this Kansas team and as the season plays out it is clear that it is PG Frank Mason is going to be the key to the Jayhawks reaching their potential.

Over the last couple of weeks he has shown his worth, even zipping to the top of the scoring list for KU.

Ideally it would better if one of their talented forwards stepped up in that category but has he has proven lately Mason can be hard to stop.

NCAAB Handicapping Trends:

  • Over is 16-5 in OKLA last 21 Mon. games.
  • OKLA are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 vs. Big 12.
  • KU are 24-10-1 ATS in their last 35 vs. Big 12.
  • Over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.

4* NCAAB Prediction:  Kansas -5

After a loss seems like the time to strike with this Kansas team.

NCAAB Score prediction:  Kansas 77 – Oklahoma 70

They don’t lose too often in conference at home and if you take the win for granted the number is easy to cover too.
