Cameron Indoor can be a source for both but that seems pretty unlikely.

Miami

The Hurricanes have probably been better than expected this season.

They are not a threat to win a very competitive ACC but thanks to wins over the likes of Illinois and Florida they are firmly in that next tier of teams in the conference that should compete for at large NCAA bids.

Heck they opened conference play by taking Virginia to overtime at home.

However, this may be a bad spot for the Canes as they travel to Duke to take on a Blue Devils team that has been hearing about how bad they were in their last game.

Miami will go about as far as their PG Angel Rodriguez will take them.

Though not the most efficient scorer he is able to make big shots in the clutch and with fellow transfer Sheldon McLelland he forms one of the better backcourts in the ACC.

The key in this one may be how well C Tonye Jekiri holds up.

He will be taking on the Dookies best player. He has the size to make it difficult for the frosh and that will be the key matchup.

Duke

The Blue Devils have been getting grilled in the media for their loss to NC State over the weekend.

The concern is not about the talent but about how they seemed to have forgotten how to play defense and the fact that they didn’t find that “gear” good teams do when they get down.

Those are the kind of criticisms you heap on a team that is just pretty darn good.

This team has star power and it would not surprise if they do not lose another game this season. Most likely the rebound starts this week.

Jahlil Okafor is having a marvelous frosh season and even though the Blue Devils lost their last game it was one of his most productive to date with 23 points and 12 rebounds.

[dfads params=’groups=64759&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

He is a super tough cover, especially because fellow freshman PG Tyus Jones has figured out how to get him the ball.

The Hurricanes have experience but the Blue Devils are more talented and should feel good playing this one at home.

NCAAB Handicapping Trends:

  • Under is 12-3 in MIA last 15 Tue. games.
  • Over is 7-1 in DUKE last 8 home games.
  • Under is 6-2 in DUKE last 8 Tue. games.
  • Road team is 7-1-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings.
  • Over is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Duke.

4* NCAAB Prediction:  Miami +15

I expect Duke to rebound and play well but that number seems a little inflated.

NCAAB Score prediction:  Duke 81 – Miami 72

The Hurricanes backcourt will have to be poised but they are experienced and can keep this one within reach most of the game.
