Arizona

The Wildcats are definitely among the best teams in America. They did some good work in the non-conference, knocking off teams like Gonzaga and playing some close games, making their loss to UNLV still a bit of a stunner.

They bounced back nicely by beating Arizona State in their conference opener at home and now they are hitting the road for the first time in PAC12 play up in Oregon. Prior to losing to UNLV I thought the Cats might have an undefeated season. That can’t happen but it wouldn’t surprise if they don’t lose again.

Arizona has everything you need to win including a strong commitment to defense. Freshman G/F Stanley Johnson has been fantastic so far this season leading the team in scoring and rebounding. This team has some depth too. They don’t play their subs as much as Kentucky but they can go 8 or 9 deep and still get contributions.

They can also play big or play small so they are tough to match up against.

Oregon

Oregon Basketball is an enigma. They want to mirror the success of the football team but seem to take a step back every time they might be on the cusp. This year was supposed to be a strong year but before the season even started they were struck by some defections and suspensions. Undeterred they have done enough work so far to be in the conversation about making it to the Tournament. If they can beat Arizona it would go a long way in helping them out so this one is pretty important.

This season the Ducks are all about Joseph Young, you could maybe even argue that he is the most important player to his program in America. Young is averaging just over 20ppg and he has proven to be a very good clutch shotmaker. Oregon is 25th in the nation in scoring because others have stepped forward to it but quite simply they are not going to win any games where Young isn’t a factor.

You can be sure that Arizona is well aware of that.

NCAAB Prediction:  Arizona -5

The Cats are going to be just a little too much for the Ducks.

NCAAB Score prediction:  Arizona 74 – Oregon 64

-5 on the road with Arizona might be the best value we see with this team in while so don’t miss it.
