Cornell: 12-2 SU, 8-3 ATS
Kansas: 13-0 SU, 6-4 ATS

The No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks will host the Cornell Big Red at Phog Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday night in Lawrence, Kansas.

These two teams have only met once with the Jayhawks crushing Cornell 100-46 back on Jan 02, 1996. But his years Cornell team is much different.

The Big Red have the best start in school history and won their tenth in row, 75-49 over Bryant on Saturday. Cornell senior forward Ryan Wittman had another big game going 5 for 5 from beyond the arc and 7 for 7 overall to finish with a game-high 19 points. The Big Red went a combined 12 of 23 from 3-point range in win – and have made 43.3 percent from beyond the arc this season. Wittman, who is averaging 18.9 points per game, is a career 43.4 percent shooter from 3-point range and has been named the Ivy League’s player of the week for the fourth time this season. However, the party might be over when they face No. 1 Kansas this week. The Big Red have lost 16 straight to ranked opponents, are 0-3 against top-ranked teams and 0-10 against current members of the Big 12. Their last defeat came by way of then-No. 10 Syracuse back on Nov. 24.

Meanwhile, Kansas has proven once again why they are the No. 1 team in the nation as they crushed then-ranked No. 18 Temple 84-52 on Saturday. This was the Jayhawks’ first match up against a ranked opponent this season and they came out of it even unscathed.

Freshman standout Xavier Henry had a game-high 15 points as Kansas once again defeated a team by at least 25 points for the ninth time this season. They lead the nation in scoring margin, beating teams by an average of 29.4 points and have accomplished this by shooting 53.4 percent from the field. The Jayhawks are also one of the best shooting teams in the country from 3-point range, making 42.9 percent — just behind Cornell in that category.

Henry is shooting 46.0 percent from 3-point range alone and leads the team with an average of 16.3 ppg.

This could be an interesting 3-point shooting showdown.
