Connecticut Huskies vs. Kentucky Wildcats Gambling Odds & Championship Final Prediction

Huskies vs Wildcats Pick – NCAA Tournament

I know that once you get to the Final Four the notion of underdog becomes subjective but I am still very surprised with the outcome of Florida vs. UConn. Not only did the Huskies beat the top team in the county but they did so fairly obviously. [ad-4468020]

Connecticut

I would have given them a chance, especially given they beat them once already, but I would have suspected it would come down to a final shot kind of scenario. Next up after the best, the most talented one.

Perhaps the most surprising thing about UConn’s win is that it did not follow the formula of Shabazz and the Pips. On Saturday night the uber talented DeAndre Daniels led the way posting 20 and 10 while playing all 40 minutes – a rarity for a forward.

His efforts on the defensive glass made sure that the Huskies were not outrebounded, a challenge that is going to be even tougher against an even bigger Kentucky front line.

The Huskies have covered in all 5 of their tournament games including 3 times as the underdog.

Obviously they won those previous games which is the way I think you have to play this one.

If you think they are going to be the champs then go for it and back them on the moneyline while you are at it. Get all the value you can.

Kentucky

Even though it is generally acknowledged that Kentucky is the most talented team in the land they keep needing some late game magic to get a victory…and Aaron Harrison keeps providing it.

At various times it looks like this team is going to fold but they show so much resiliency to go with all of that talent.

There is only one more to go even though it is has been kind of a bumpy road to get to this point. I am not sure I want to bet against them.

I had a hunch that Alex Poythress would be a factor against Wisconsin and he was with 8 points and 7 boards off the bench. He is so supremely athletic and seems content with his role and can really give them a lift. Bench contributions are important but I also see the Wildcats being able to dominate with their size up front.

Julius Randle is just a load and they are getting more from Dakari Johnson than they have been all season long. I think it is going to be too much for UConn.

The Wildcats haven’t lost ATS over their last 8, though their win over Wisconsin was a push.

They have definitely shown a flair for the dramatic in the tournament with a number of close victories. I just have a hunch that in this one they won’t need to.

The capacity is there for them to dominate for sure.
