With that win, Colorado now has a 1-1 record against Arizona over the past four seasons, and will look to increase that advantage while maintaining their second place position in the new PAC-12, and improve on an unimpressive 2-4 road record.

Winners of five of their last six, the Buffalos’ Nate Tomlinson hit a free throw with one second remaining to lift Colorado to a 72-71 victory over visiting Oregon on Saturday.

The game was a little closer than it was supposed to be, based on the talent level of the teams, but Colorado used its advantage on the boards, including 11 grabs for Andre Roberson who also had a career-high seven blocks, to win the possession battle and the game.

It was just another day at the office for Roberson who has led the team in rebounding in 21 out of 23 games this season.

In the meantime, Askia Booker provided the offensive spark, putting up the most points for the Buffaloes with 17 in 26 minutes, while the Colorado defense held Oregon star Eric Singler to just 13 points.

Meanwhile, the Wildcats have won three of their last four, and are sitting in 4th spot in the PAC-12. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Arizona turned up the heat their last time out, outshooting Stanford with a barrage of threes, while playing solid defense to pull away to a late 56-43 victory on Saturday.

Kyle Fogg, who has led the team in scoring in 8 out of 24 games this season, scored a team-best 14 points while Jesse Perry added 11.

In order to get a win on Thursday, the Wildcats will have to play better defense this time against the Buffalos, who they allowed to shoot better than 40 percent the first time they met.

Arizona will also need to play a full 48 minutes, which they did not do last time ,while getting more offense going early on and then hang onto the lead. Again, something they did not do in game one, blowing a led 39-35 halftime advantage.

Finally, the Buffalos held Arizona’s leading scorer, Solomon Hill, to just 10 points and 10 rebounds in Boulder, if that happens again, the Cat’s can’t expect to win.

Free Pick: Arizona — I look for Arizona to learn from their first match up with Colorado, and use their size to dominate the inside with help from Roberson, while opening up the scoring on a better performance from Hill.
