Bradley’s 6-11 record looks better than it should as the team opened their schedule with four cupcake wins and enters this one having lost nine of 10, while Wichita State nearly suffered their first loss their last time out but a solid effort in the second half allowed the team to stay undefeated.
The win in that last game helped the Shockers to improve to 17-0 on the season, 4-0 in Missouri Valley play, and helped the program to its first top 5 ranking in over 32 years.

Wichita State had more trouble with Missouri State than they would have liked, but in the end the team was able to overcome a 19-point deficit to pull off the victory. Forward Cleanthony Early led the team in scoring with 22 points on 4 of 14 shooting, doing most of his work from the line where he went 13 of 14. Early also chipped in 14 boards, two steals, and two blocks to fill out his stat line. Guard Fred VanVleet scored 16 points with one rebound, four assists, two steals, and a block. In total, the Shockers shot just 35.3 percent from the field, and scored 31 of their 72 points from the charity stripe.

The Shockers will need to work on their play at the offensive end as free throw opportunities like that won’t be there for them every night. The team has hit on just 38.2 percent of their shots from the field in their last three games, with Early hitting on just 35.0 percent of his shots.
The team’s defense has helped to bail them out though, as they’ve limited opponents to a 35.9 percent clip shooting the basketball, and now get a Bradley team coming off a 34.9 percent shooting effort.
The Shockers are certainly giving away plenty of points in this one, but they’ve been the favorite in each of the last seven meetings between these teams and they’ve covered in each of those meetings, and the Braves haven’t exactly been good against the number this year, going 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
