They are not as good as the football team but the basketball Broncos are better than you think. They were a very good 12-2 in the nonconference part of their schedule including an impressive win at Creighton that wasn’t even close.

Boise State
In Mountain West play they held their own winning at home and challenging on the road. This is a team that wants to get up and down the floor which should make this game very entertaining.
Anthony Drmic and Derrick Marks are a potent scoring duo, averaging more than 33 points per game between them. The Broncos like to shoot but they are weak inside. For at least one round they have the perfect matchup as La Salle essentially uses a 5 guard lineup.

They are still going to need power forward Ryan Watkins to rebound misses and even though he is far from dominant he could play a big role if they do advance.
Boise State is on a 9-2 ATS run and the number moved from originally a pick to installing them as the favourite. They are 14-4 SU as a favourite this season and given the short spread all they really have to do is win.
This is an experienced team with 4 returning starters but none of them have played in a game like this.
La Salle
It has been a really long time since the Explorers were last invited to the Big Dance. They are not here by fluke though as this team went 11-5 in the A-10 to tie fellow tournament teams Butler and Temple for third in the conference. La Salle jumped onto everyone’s radar when they upset the Bulldogs and VCU, back to back in January. [ad-6571516]
They are not to be taken lightly or else they can run you out of the gym.
The Explorers play a guard oriented offense featuring Ramon Galloway, who along with Tyreek Duren averages more than 30ppg. Like Boise they have a couple of bigs they rotate in and will be looking for them to clean up the glass.
This game will likely go to whichever team shoots the ball the best and both have 43% shooting averages away from their home arenas this season.
Not a lot separates these teams
These teams profile very similarly and are very close in composition. As a result it is no surprise the number is so short. La Salle has not been a moneymaker for bettors at 12-14 ATS but I am wondering if location might be a factor in their favour.
They have shorter to travel and as a member of the A-10 are familiar with the Arena in Dayton.
Meanwhile Boise went from Vegas to Idaho and now to Ohio.
That might take a toll.
