Big 10 Conference: NCAA Basketball Gambling Predictions

The Big 10 may be the best conference in the nation, as after a few games they have 4 teams ranked in the top 25 in Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue, and Minnesota. The Big 10 is stacked this season and Michigan State is one of the teams that not only has the best odds to win the conference, but they also have legit odds to win the NCAA title this season.

Michigan State – Even – The Spartans have the best odds to win the Big 10 and it is easy to see why with G Kalin Lucas back from last season’s injury and he and Durrell Summers give MSU a great chance to get back to the Final 4. They also return starters Draymond Green and Korie Lucious, as the Spartans are loaded with experience and talent and Tom Izzo will lead one of the best defensive teams in the nation once again.

Ohio State +250 – OK, so the Buckeyes’ lost Evan Turner to the NBA, but they are still loaded, especially since they landed 2 prized recruits in Deshaun Thomas and Jared Sullinger, who will likely be a future NBA star. On top of the 2 freshmen Ohio State returns William Buford (14.4 ppg), Jon Diebler (13.0 ppg) and David Lighty (12.6 ppg).

Purdue +500 – The Boilermakers lost F Robbie Hummel to a knee injury and he will be out for the year, which just puts that much more pressure on the 2 stars of G E’Twaun Moore and F JaJuan Johnson. With Hummel out the newcomers of guards Terone Johnson and G Anthony Johnson will have to shoot the rock from the outside so teams do not stack the inside to stop Johnson, who may be the best player in the Big 10.

Illinois +650 – The Fighting Illini have their top 4 scorers back from last season in Demetri McCamey (15.1 ppg), Mike Tisdale (11.9 ppg), Mike Davis (10.7 ppg) and DJ Richardson (10.5 ppg). They also have their 2 top rebounders back in Davis (9.2 rpg) and Tisdale (6.0 rpg) and along with big recruit Joseph Bertrand Illinois is solid. Their season may depend if 7-footer Tisdale can pick up his game both scoring and rebounding. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

Wisconsin +800 – The Badgers return their leading scorer in Jon Leuer, who shot 52% from the field last season and averaged 15 ppg. He along with F Keaton Nankivil and G Jordan Taylor give Wisconsin a solid inside outside game and while the Badgers are not as talented as other teams in the conference they play a slow-down defensive game that can frustrate opponents.

Minnesota +1200 – The Golden Gophers may be a good dark horse pick and they have got off to a good start this season. G Blake Hoffarber has to step up in the scoring department with the loss of Lawrence Westbrook and the frontcourt duo of Ralph Sampson III and Colton Iverson have to live up to their promise, but are each set for breakout seasons. The Golden Gophers did not get any big name recruits, but the freshmen trio of Maurice Walker, Elliott Eliason and Oto Osenieks should get playing time right away and they will need to give some production since Minnesota does not have a ton of scoring options.

Here are the odds to win the Big 10 at Sportsbook.com as of November 25th.
