It’s a big night in the Big 12 this evening with the Baylor Bears hosting the 3rd ranked and undefeated Kansas Jayhawks and the 12th ranked Missouri Tigers hosting the 20th ranked Kansas State Wildcats.

Kansas State vs. Missouri Preview

Both of these teams have not gotten off to a great start losing 2 of their first 3 conference games. NCAA lines have Missouri as 5.5-point favorites in this game with a total of 151.

In their last games on Saturday Missouri lost to Texas A&M in a thriller 91-89 in OT and Kansas State crushed Texas Tech winning 94-60.

This season Kansas State is 4-8 ATS and Missouri is 6-7 ATS. In the last 7 meetings between these 2 Big 12 rivals the home team is 7-0 ATS and Kansas State has only covered the spread one time in their last 5 games at Missouri.

Mizzou has won 4 straight games at home overall and have beaten Kansas State 3 straight times in their house.

Both teams struggled with their shooting in their first couple of conference games, but each shot over 50% from the field in their last Big 12 game.

Kansas State has the nation’s 75th ranked defense and they have a tall task tonight against a Mizzou offense that ranks 5th in the nation averaging 85.4 ppg. The Tigers have a well-balanced attack on offense with 5 guys averaging in double figures led by G Marcus Denmon (17.7 ppg).

G Jacob Pullen (17.9 ppg) leads the Wildcats, but he has not shot the ball well as of late shooting under 50% from the field in his last 3 games. He and backcourt mate Rodney McGruder (12.2 ppg) are well rested for this game after sitting much of the last blowout win.

The Wildcats rank 8th in the nation in rebounds per game and they hit the boards as a team and Mizzou, especially F Laurence Bowers (6.3 rpg) and F Ricardo Ratliffe (7.1 rpg), must keep the Wildcats from dominating the glass.

Missouri was killed from the charity stripe being out-scored 29-9 from the free throw line in their loss to Texas A&M and tonight they have to stay out of foul trouble and on offense they have to attack the hoop and not just settle for the outside J.

The Tigers have many scoring options and they will give the defense of Kansas State fits tonight. Pullen will have a good game, but Mizzou will shut down the other guys and win this game and cover the spread moving to 2-2 in Big 12 play.

Betting Trends

Kansas State is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games and Missouri is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.
