Missouri Tigers vs. Kansas Jayhawks Preview

Tonight in a Big 12 match up the 2nd ranked Kansas Jayhawks (22-1) host the 15th ranked Missouri Tigers (18-5). NCAA lines have Kansas as big 11-point favorites in this game with a total of 155.

In their last games both teams played on Saturday with Missouri snapping their 2-game losing streak by beating Colorado 89-73 and Kansas killed Nebraska 86-66.

Missouri has lost 14 straight games against the Jayhawks in their house and this season the Tigers are only 1-4 in away games.

This season both teams have been mediocre bets with Missouri at 9-9 ATS and Kansas at 11-10 ATS. Missouri has only covered the spread one time in their last 5 games at Kansas.

Mizzou will have to repeat their performance of the Colorado game tonight when the Tigers had 5 players score in double figures and their D played great forcing the Buffalos into 23 turnovers. Guards Marcus Denmon (16.7 ppg) and Kim English (10.8 ppg) will have to shoot the rock well tonight for Mizzou to have any chance at the upset.

What is even more important than the Tigers; offense is their defense, as they will be facing a Kansas team that ranks 8th in the nation in scoring, 4th in the nation in assists per game, and 1st in the nation in field goal percentage. Mizzou’s main goal in this game is to try to contain the twin forwards of Marcus Morris (16.7 ppg 6.8 rpg) and Markieff Morris (13.1 ppg 8.5 rpg).

Kansas Freshman G Josh Selby (12 ppg) may miss this game with an injury and in the blowout win over Nebraska Brady Morningstar (5.9 ppg) took his place in the starting lineup and scored 19 points and had 6 assists.

Both teams have offenses that rank in the top 10 in scoring, but Kansas has the major advantage on defense, as they rank 47th in the nation in opponents’ points per game while Mizzou only ranks 210th.

Mizzou is a legit Big Dance team this season and while they are ranked and can score they will not beat Kansas tonight. However, the Tigers will play good defense and it will not be a blowout so they will cover the 11-point spread.

Betting Trends
