No. 12 Kentucky visits Alabama in an SEC free-for-all as the two try to break the tie they share for first place in the conference on Tuesday night.

The Crimson Tide seems to be headed in the right direction as and have shown improvement, posting a 2-1 record in SEC play. However, they are coming of a loss in a tough game at Arkansas, a game they had a chance to win.

Offensively, Alabama has struggled as they average just 67.5 points per game shooting 45.8 percent from the floor and are averaging 38.9 offensive rebounds per game. JaMychal Green is averaging 15.4 points and 7.4 rebounds, Tony Mitchell is averaging 14.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, and Chris Hines is grabbing seven rebounds per game.

Defensively is where Alabama has made the biggest improvement and how they compete as they allow just 56.8 points per game while allowing the opposition to shoot just 35.8 percent against them.

As for the Wildcats, they’ve won nine straight and believe they can extend that.

As always, Kentucky is loaded with top-level talent and is playing well, going 3-0 against teams ranked in the top 25, while registering a 2-1 record in SEC play, and 1-2 on the road this year. Offensively the Cats are averaging 80 points per game and they are shooting 46.5 percent from the floor while averaging 40.8 offensive rebounds per game.

Terrance Jones is averaging 18.6 points and nine rebounds per game, Brandon Knight is averaging 17.5 points, and Doron Lamb is averaging 13.8 points. As always Kentucky is tough defensively, allowing 61.9 points per game as the opposition shoots just 37.8 percent against them.

Last season, the Crimson Tide went 0-2 against the Wildcats, losing by an average margin of eight.

This one looks like it is going to be a real defensive struggle and a half court game, two areas the Wildcats are better.
