Kansas continues to roll winning two straight after losing to cross state rival Kansas State and will look to end the season strong, starting with a win over struggling Oklahoma on Saturday.

Everything fell into place in Lawrence as the Jayhawks spanked Oklahoma State 92-65, on Monday. KU dominated the Cowboys and took a commanding 52-28 lead by the half.  The Jayhawks closed it out in the second, and never let Oklahoma State off the hook shooting 54 percent and using their advantage on the boards to generate more possessions and second-chance shots with a total of 38 rebounds.

Leading scorer, Marcus Morris posted team-best 27 points while Mario Little had a game-high 10 rebounds to lend a hand in the victory.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma’s chance at any shot of a Tournament bid probably faded weeks ago, and was punctuated with a 61-47 pounding by Texas A&M on February 23 on the road. The Sooners have lost six in a row and Oklahoma fans are jumping ship. The Aggies held the Sooners to just 33 percent shooting while they smoked the OU defenders, shooting 47 percent from the field.

Cade Davis led the Sooners scoring with 21 points of Oklahoma’s 47 that came in way below their season average of 66. Carl Blair Jr. came up with a game-high four assists.

The loss dropped the Sooners to 10th place in the Big 12 at 4-9 while their record against RPI Top 50 teams fell to 0-9.

One thing Oklahoma has going for it in this match u is their 11-3 at home record. However, Kansas is a very good 7-1 on the road.

In Big 12 play, Kansas is averaging a league-high 83.2 points per game and is shooting a conference-best .517 from the field.  The Jayhawks rank second in field goal percentage defense (.426) and average rebounding margin (+5.8).  They have reached the 80-point mark eight times in their last nine games.  On the season, KU’s .521 field goal percentage leads the nation.

Matt’s Free Pick:  Kansas- Last year, the Jayhawks played the Sooners hard and won 81-68. In four years, Oklahoma has a record of 0-5 against Kansas, including 0-2 at home. I expect that trend to continue.
