Thomas Robinson scored 17 points and hauled in nine rebounds as he helped lift his sixth-ranked Jayhawks past Kansas State 90-66 on Saturday.

Markieff Morris led the charge with 20 points and nine rebounds, and Tyshawn Taylor had 13 points for the Jayhawks as they dismantled their cross state rival in the 181st meeting since 1907.

Now Kansas might just need a little more help from Robinson as the Jayhawks try to earn their first victory at United Arena in coach Bill Self’s tenure Tuesday night, while attempting to rack up wins in an effort to secure its seventh straight Big 12 title.

The Jayhawks trail Texas by one game in the conference and a win over the Red Raiders would start the toughest part of their schedule as they travel to Nebraska on Saturday before hosting bitter rival No. 14 Missouri on Monday night.

As for the Red Raiders, they want nothing more than to spoil the Jayhawks plans and could do so by registering their fourth home win over Kansas dating back to March 3, 2003. The Jayhawks are winless in three trips to Lubbock, but have beaten Texas Tech twice last season by a combined 38 points.

Mike Singletary scored 25 points and John Roberson hit a 3-pointer with 53 seconds left in overtime in Saturday’s 75-74 home win over Oklahoma State. It was the Raiders third straight win.  Singletary, averaging a team-best 14.3 points, had a season-high 33 in his team’s previous game, a 92-83 victory at Iowa State on Wednesday night.

The Jayhawks lead the series 19-4, and are currently outscoring Tech 82 to 74 points per game

Matt’s Free Pick: Jayhawks – Kansas is an overwhelming favorite here. Additionally, there is a momentum story, where Kansas is looking to capitalize having won four of their last five games. Meanwhile, the Raiders are trying to win four straight for the first time since its 9-0 start last season. Having won six consecutive road games, Kansas is seeking its longest streak there since an 11-game run following a loss at Texas Tech on Jan. 20, 2007. The facts point to a blockbuster win for Kansas.
