This season Syracuse is 13-0 at home and Notre Dame is 3-1 on the road.

The Orange have lost 2 straight with both losses on the road and they have the longest home winning streak in the nation (35).

The Orange will be short handed in this game with forwards James Southerland (13.6 ppg 5.2 rpg) out with eligibility issues and DaJuan Coleman (5 ppg 4.4 rpg) out with a knee injury. With these big guys out the Orange were dominated on the boards in the loss to Pitt and they cannot allow that to happen again.

Syracuse is led by G Brandon Triche (14.9 ppg), who has struggled with his shot in the last 2 games. The Orange have 4 players that average in double figures, so the Fighting Irish have to play good all around D and not concentrate on containing one guy. [ad-6571516]

Notre Dame is led by FW Jack Cooley (15 ppg 11.3 rpg) and the Orange have to keep him from getting easy points in the paint and especially keep him from dominating the glass.

The Fighting Irish have a solid backcourt with the G duo of Jerian Grant (12.6 ppg) and Eric Atkins (11.8 ppg) and these guys have to shoot the rock well tonight and if they can do that and Cooley has room inside Notre Dame has a solid chance at an upset.

Syracuse has won 8 of their last 10 home games against Notre Dame.

In some betting trends for this Big East game Notre Dame is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games, and they have an Under record of 8-3 in their last 11 road games.

Syracuse is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, and they have an Under record of 5-2 in their last 7 home games.

Jason’s Pick: The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 games between these 2 teams, but that trend will not continue. The Fighting Irish may not win, but they will play the Orange close and, at least, cover the spread.
