Team records:
Baylor: 20-5 SU
Oklahoma State: 18-7 SU

The No. 22 Baylor Bears will hit the road to take on Big 12 foe Oklahoma State Cowboys at the Gallagher-IBA Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Saturday.

The Bears downed the Cowboys 83-70 the last time the two teams met on Jan 16 in Waco. Oklahoma State has won six in a row against Baylor at Gallagher-Iba Arena, but this year could be different against a much-improved Bears squad.

Baylor extended their win streak to three with an 88-70 victory over Texas Tech on Tuesday night. LaceDarius Dunn finished with 30 points while Michigan transfer Ekpe Udoh added 13 points, 11 rebounds and nine blocks for his 12th double double in the win. Senior guard Tweety Carter contributed 12 points and 11 assists. The Bears shot 54 percent from the field against Tech. Dunn, second in the Big 12 in points per game, has averaged 22.0 points and shot 41.0 percent from 3-point range in his last five games. The 6-foot-10 Ekpe Udoh is averaging 13.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and a conference-best 4.4 blocks per game.

Carter, who leads the Big 12 with 6.3 assists per game, has averaged 21.0 points and shot an amazing 62.5 percent from 3-point range in three games in Stillwater so he could create trouble for the Cowboys’ guards.

The Cowboys have back-to–back wins including a 69-64 victory over Iowa State on Wednesday night that snapped a two-game road-losing streak. The Cowboys squandered a 20-point first-half advantage then fought off an Iowa rally in the second to avoid the loss. Senior guard Obi Muonelo scored a season-high 31 points while teams leading scorer James Anderson added 20 points in the win. Anderson is second in scoring in the Big 12, averaging 22.5 points per game.

Now OSU will focus on adding themselves to the logjam for third place in the Big 12 race and increase their hopes of reaching the NCAA Tournament by bettering their at home record to 13-2 on Saturday.

There has been a lot of speculation that the Cowboys are a one-horse team, relying heavily on Anderson.

If they want to shatter that image, they’ll need help slowing down the Bears’ talented backcourt of LaceDarius Dunn and Tweety Carter if they want a shot at wining this one.

Baylor has been a surprise force in the Big 12 this season, but even though they are 20-5 overall they are getting points against a team that is only one game over .500. I taking the Bears and the 2 points.
