Even with the addition of Missouri the SEC is still kind of light this season. Alabama and Mississippi are fighting to prove that the league is worthy of multiple bids and this game could be critical to both of these team’s chances.

Alabama
Alabama is tied for second in the league at 11-5, a game ahead of the Rebels. Their problem is they don’t have any really good wins so they need to collect as many as possible.
Alabama is a high effort team. They have a decent lead dog in guard Trevor Releford but the rest of their players are really only role players.
They are especially light on the inside where they don’t get much production – they don’t even have a player averaging 5 rebounds per game.

Ole Miss has some experience on the interior that could give the Tide some fits. These guys won’t give up but they are light in overall talent.
The Crimson Tide have not been good friends to bettors this season. They are just 11-14 ATS this season and have been an awful 3-9 ATS at home. Lucky for punters they are better, but not much, on the road, 6-5 ATS.
As a heavy underdog I might be able to get behind Alabama because they can be dogged but at just +4 I don’t like this value play.
Ole Miss
The Rebels have been steadily sinking since their humbling loss to Kentucky. Including that game they are just 4-6 in their last 10 games, squandering what was supposed to have been a sure fire invitation to the Dance. Ole Miss needs this one to improve their standings in the conference. [ad-6571516]
They may have a slight edge over Alabama due to the fact they they beat Mizzou back when they were the 10 ranked team in the nation.
With the losing it seems like the Marshall Henderson sideshow has been quieted. He has had a few clunkers but overall seems to have lost his mojo. Against Alabama the Rebels should pound it inside with Murphy Holloway. He is close to averaging a double-double.
He and Reginald Buckner form a productive inside combo, and if they don’t get sped up by Alabama should have another efficient game.
The Rebels desperately need this one. It is not the highest profile of opponents but they need to show that they can show up when people are actually watching or else they are doomed for the NIT.
As a home 4 point favourite I like the Rebels.
I am not sure I would get down but they are the play here is you want to get down.
