While it is still February March Madness has already started in college hoops and while some teams are locks to get to the Big Dance many are clawing for their chance to get off the bubble or even get on it.

Here is a look at the new top 10 teams as of February 22nd and their futures odds to win the NCAA Tournament.

#1 Duke Blue Devils +400
Bet Now at JustBet.com —>

Duke is back in the top-spot, but staying that way and snagging a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney will not be easy since they still have to play 2 ranked teams to finish the regular season. However, the defending champions have the team, yet again, to go all the way with a solid inside-outside game with star G Nolan Smith (21.7 ppg) and the frontcourt of Kyle Singler (16.8 ppg 6.8 rpg) and Mason Plumlee (7.3 ppg 8.7 rpg). The Blue Devils also have a legit defense ranking 57th in the nation in opponents’ points per game.

#2 Ohio State Buckeyes +350

Yeah, we know Ohio State is a solid team, but they have lost their last 2 games against ranked teams and there will not be any cream puffs in the Big Dance at least after the first round is over. The Buckeyes do rank 10th in the nation in opponents’ points per game and have a National Player of the Year candidate in Jared Sullinger (18.8 ppg 9.9 rpg), but Ohio State only ranks 210th in the nation in rebounds per game and that is a major issue as the tourney draws near.

#3 Kansas Jayhawks +400

Kansas ranks in the top 5 in the nation in points per game, assists per game, and FG % and they rank 30th in rebounds per game. The Morris twins, who are both legit pro prospects, lead them and the Jayhawks’ defense is pretty solid. Kansas was the big favorite to win the title last year and there are not as many expectations this season so there is not as much pressure on them.

#4 Pittsburgh Panthers +1200

Pitt is a tough team that can score and hit the boards and play great defense. They have 4 wins over top 25 teams so far this season and they play in the killer Big East so, they will not be intimidated by any team in the tournament. They have a good all around team and they may be the best team from the toughest conference.

#5 Texas Longhorns +600

Texas did beat Kansas this season, but it is interesting in the 2 other top 10 non-conference teams they played they lost. Still their D ranks in the top 15 in the country and if they run the table to end the season they may get a #1 seed. The first Big 10 loss of the Longhorns recently showed that if star G/F Jordan Hamilton struggles (18.7 ppg 7.5 rpg) Texas may be in trouble.

#6 San Diego State Aztecs +1500

Can San Diego State be this season’s Butler? I would have to say no. While the Aztecs have a great defense and a good all around team they have only one win over a ranked team and that was in the beginning of the season when Gonzaga was ranked 12th. Their soft schedule may come back to bite them in the Big Dance when they will have to face some college powerhouses.

#7 Brigham Young Cougars +3000

BYU, much like San Diego State, has not played the toughest schedule, but they have beaten SDSU, Arizona, and St, Mary’s this season. Sure they have super scoring stud Jimmer Fredette (27.2 ppg 41.7% 3-pt FG%), but the Cougars are not one-dimensional, as they rank 13th in the nation in rebounding and have a couple of forwards averaging around 10 ppg. One big question mark is their defense, which ranks 121st in the nation in opponents’ points per game.

#8 Purdue Boilermakers +1800

Purdue is a tough team with a couple of great players in F/C JaJuan Johnson and E’Twaun Moore, but the Boilermakers are not a deep squad and they are only 2-3 against ranked teams so far this season.

#9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish +2000

Which Notre Dame team will show up at the Big Dance? The one that beat 3 top 10 teams or the one that has lost to 3 unranked teams?

#10 Arizona Wildcats +3000

Arizona may be one of the hottest teams in the nation as the NCAA Tourney approaches, as they have not lost since January 20th. However, while Derrick Williams (19.7 ppg) is a great player he is the only player for Arizona that is averaging in double figures.
