Washington is one of the worst teams in the NBA. Portland will be looking to this game as a chance to get back on track.
Washington has actually been a little more competitive of late.
The Wizards beat Detroit for their second road win of the season on Sunday night. Randy Wittman has taken over the coaching duties after Flip Saunders was fired. John Wall is the guy this team is building around.
Wall definitely has tons of potential, but he has some notable weaknesses at this point in his career as well. Wall doesn’t have an outside shot, and he has already racked up 114 turnovers this year. Nick Young leads the team in scoring at 17.3 per game. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Andray Blatche is out with a calf injury and that hurts the team because they don’t have much depth in the low post.
Portland must find a way to get over their tough losses and get back on track at home.
The Blazers have gotten poor guard play from Jamal Crawford and Raymond Felton over the last few games. LaMarcus Aldridge has been an absolute beast for the Blazers. Aldridge is becoming the franchise player for the Blazers now that Brandon Roy is gone and Greg Oden is always injured.
Aldridge averages 23.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. He is a big man who can step outside and knock down the 20 foot jumper when needed.
The Blazers are at their best when they are moving the ball around instead of playing one-on-one basketball.
Portland is 11-3 at home this year, and it’s hard to imagine Washington sticking around in this one. Look for the Blazers to take their frustration out on the Wizards in this one.
