2013-2014 NBA Season Win Total Odds Predictions + Basketball Handicapping

Bet on NBA Futures

The NBA season is about to start so we will know very soon which teams have improved, regressed, or sometimes worse find themselves in the same situation they were one year ago. [ad-4468020]

With all that in mind here are some future plays worth considering. Odds from [dfads params=’groups=63740&limit=1&return_javascript=0′].

Overs:

Washington Wizards Over 39

That total was from before the recent trade for Gortat but even before that I liked this team to break through with an over .500 season. They are getting better and have the advantage of facing some awful teams in the Eastern Conference.

They are young but good on the perimeter and adding Otto Porter, who is smooth and unselfish, will make this team be more than good enough to make the playoffs. I expect Bradley Beal to make a leap too!

Toronto Raptors Over 35.5

As a Toronto guy I am biased but this team should be better than last year and gets to play a whole bunch of games against Boston and Philadelphia, who are going to be way worse. The biggest difference should be the development of big man Jonas Valanciunas.

For what it is worth he was MVP of the Summer League this year but he can given them another scorer to go with Rudy Gay, Demar Derozen. Throw in Terrence Ross and these guys are loaded on the wing.

Oklahoma City Thunder Over 51.5

Their disappointing playoff performance last year has the bloom falling off their rose to so speak. They may not have replaced James Harden yet but I like the reinforcements that came through the draft. Steven Adams has size and potential, Andre Roberson is Shawn Marion 2.0 an Rodney McGruder will earn minutes and contribute. [ad-6571516]

The key is the health of Russell Westbrook but as long as he is healthy they will challenge for the best record in the league. This number is way too low.

Unders:

Boston Celtics Under 27.5

The Celtics are going to be bad this season but according to these numbers not the worst team in the league – that is an opinion I wish to argue with. Though I like Rajon Rondo generally I don’t like the pairing with Avery Bradley, you can’t win in this league getting something like 23 points from your starting backcourt.

They are tenacious but small and where is the shooting going to come from – Not those guys.

Sacramento Kings Under 31

I have to say that I love Demarcus Cousins’ game. He is big and physical and super productive. Unfortunately the rest of the team is a lot of ifs including their top pick Ben McLemore. They also do not have Tyreke Evans anymore who was an aggressive player thankful to get of town. Greivis Vazquez and John Salmons are supposed to be starters. In a tough West they won’t get to this total.

Milwaukee Bucks Under 29

There are only a couple of players I like on their roster. One of those is O.J. Mayo who I think has a scoring title in him if they just let him go for it. Maybe this is the year as this team is really not going anywhere anyway, give the fans something to enjoy.

That might be the only thing for Milwaukee who seems to lack real direction as a franchise.
