Who has the edge tonight?

Team records:
Chicago: 21-22 SU, 20-21-2 ATS
Oklahoma City: 24-20 SU, 27-17 ATS

Matchup: Bulls at Thunder
Time: 8:00 p.m. ET

Spread: Oklahoma City -5
Over/Under: 195

The Thunder (24-20, 27-17 ATS) just wrapped up a four-game road trip with mixed results. Oklahoma went 2-2 but lost its final two games to Memphis and Cleveland. Though the loss to the Grizzlies is embarrassing, the Thunder have still covered five of their last six games against the spread, so NBA betting fans can’t really complain too much.

Kevin Durant might be the best young player in the NBA not named LeBron James. Durant is third in league scoring at 29.3 points per game while also chipping in team-high 7.3 rebounds per game. KD turned on the afterburners when the calendar turned over to 2010, and his numbers are up across the board this month. In fact, his lowest scoring output in his last 10 games is 27 points. Offensively, the Thunder still rank middle-of-the-pack, however. Their real bread and butter comes on defense, as the team is fifth in the NBA at 95.7 points allowed per game.

The Bulls might finally be finding their feet this season. Chicago (21-22, 20-21-2 ATS) has won three straight games and seven of its past nine. Sports betting fans have made a killing against the spread with Chicago—the team has ripped off 12 wins in 16 games ATS. And no, it’s not just at home; the Bulls have covered seven of their past nine road games. This will be the sixth straight road game for Chicago.

Sophomore sensation Derrick Rose has elevated his play throughout the season. Online Sports Betting at SportsbookHe averaged 16.2 points and 5.3 assists per game in November; those averages improved to 20.4 PPG/6.1 APG in December and 23.3 PPG/6.5 APG in January. With Rose playing up to his potential, the Bulls can be a real handful. In fact, during the current three-game winning streak, Chicago is averaging 105.6 points per game—a big improvement over the season average of 95.3.

THE PICK

Oklahoma City has won two of its last three matchups against Chicago (2-1 ATS). This series has gone under the total in two straight. Both teams are playing well and rely on bright young stars, but the Thunder have a major advantage of playing at home. With five straight road games already in the bag for the Bulls—and one more to come Friday night—Oklahoma should have more bounce in its step than Chicago. Bet on the Thunder.
