Golden State

They are one of the elite scoring teams in the league, but with a porous defense, that has yielded only 12 victories this season.  This is a a weird team that seems to excel when you least expect it.  They are coming off a home win against the Clippers and had a road victory at Denver earlier this month.

These two teams squared off a week and a half ago with Golden State winning at home 102-96.

They won that game even though their backcourt duo of Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry shot a combined 8 for 30.

Fortunately forward David Lee chipped in with a game high 28 and 12 boards, typical work for him.  Looking at those numbers for Ellis and Curry you have to like their chances of upsetting the aging Suns.

Those guys normally shoot much better and the Suns do not have good defensive counters for them.

Phoenix

The Phoenix Suns are only slightly ahead of the Warriors in the Pacific standings with an oddly mixed roster.   [soliloquy id=”82219″]

They have won their last two games at home and will be looking for some revenge after losing to Golden State earlier this month.  In this series it has been good to be the home team with the hosts going 4-0 ATS the spread recently.

Point guard Steve Nash is enjoying another fantastic season leading the league in assists once again.  He has had 10 or more assists in 10 straight games but unfortunately that does not guarantee team success – they have won just 6 of those.

It does however give them a chance to compete and against a Jekyll and Hyde team like Golden State that can sometimes be enough.

The Warriors don’t have a great counter for Suns C Marcin Gortat who had 25 and 12 when they met last.

Spread Pick:  Golden State +4
O/U Pick:  Over
Score Prediction:  Golden State 106 – Phoenix 103
