BetUS NBA Basketball Sports Betting Odds: PHOENIX -10.5, Total 230.5

Here are some of the NBA betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* GS has played five of its last seven games UNDER the total
* GS has covered two of its last eight road games * GS has lost nine of its last 10 road games SU
* PHX has covered three of its last 14 games
* PHX has lost six of its last nine games SU * PHX has covered one of its last five home games

Also…

* GS has won four of the last six meetings SU
* The last seven meetings have gone OVER the total
* PHX has covered five of the last six meetings as the home team
* PHX has won the last six meetings SU as the home team
* Ten of the last 15 meetings in Phoenix have gone OVER the total
* GS has had the shooting edge in four of the last six meetings
* PHX has had the rebounding edge in four of the last five meetings
* GS has made more three-pointers in five of the last six meetings

This game is a quick rematch from Wednesday’s meeting, where the Suns, the best shooting team in the NBA, were out-gunned by Golden State (52.2%- 45.6%) en route to losing a 124-112 decision. The Warriors made 13 three-pointers in that game, and it appeared clear that they were more comfortable with the pace. It wasn’t a bad game for Shaquille O’Neal, who had 17 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 8-for-9 from the field, but there was obviously a lot of problem in defending Golden State’s big guns – Jamal Crawford and Stephen Jackson, who posted 27 and 30 points, respectively.

Monta Ellis has returned to action for Golden State. The 6’3″ guard, who was expected to assume the point, has had a hard time with it, dishing out 21 assists with 17 turnovers and shooting just 35%. Against Phoenix he was oh-for-7 from the floor.

It would be easy for us to just chalk this up to a revenge scalping for the Suns, who have won the last six meetings between these teams at the US Airways Center, covering five of them. Certainly there are plenty of defensive deficiencies on the part of Don Nelson’s team. Consider, though, that Phoenix is just 7-15 ATS as a home favorite and is just 1-5 ATS laying 9.5 points or more. Golden State plays at a pace that could make things uncomfortable for Shaq, as he doesn’t sprint up and down the floor like he used to. If Terry Porter wanted his team to play the run ‘n gun, he wouldn’t have changed a thing when he took over the coaching reins from Mike D’Antoni.

Let’s grab points with the Warriors, the 10.5-point underdog in the BetUS NBA betting odds.

Our PLAY: GOLDEN STATE +10.5 **
