Week 8 NBA Wagering Review

With another week of NBA basketball now a thing of the past – and the 2008-09 NBA regular season moving into its ninth week it is time to take a look back…

NBA Weekly Roundup

Okay BetUS NBA sports betting buffs, with the 2008-09 regular season’s seventh week now a thing of the past, it’s time to take a look back on the week that was across the league while also taking a sneak peek into the upcoming week and what BetUS NBA Sportsbook bettors can expect out of several NBA teams heading into Week 8.

This week, let’s start with the Eastern Conference.

Well, NBA Sportsbook bettors, while everyone knows by now that the Boston Celtics (16-12 ATS) have won 18 consecutive games, it is the Orlando Magic (17-9-1 ATS) that are the hottest ATS team in the league, having covered the spread for backers in five consecutive games.

Orlando recorded impressive back-to-back home wins over the Spurs and Lakers and have to be mentioned as a legitimate contender in the East along with the Cavaliers and Celtics.

Cleveland (21-6 ATS) maintained its No. 1 overall ATS raking by going 3-2 ATS this past week, a wagering statistic also achieved by the Celtics during the same span.

Another team NBA bettors may want to take a long hard look at this upcoming week is the blossoming Atlanta Hawks, (16-11 ATS) winners of nine of their last ten games overall. The high-flying Hawks have also gone an impressive 4-1 ATS in their last five.

The Miami Heat (10-15-1 ATS) and Milwaukee Bucks (19-9-1 ATS) also closed out their respective week 7 with two straight wins in the BetUS Sportsbook while the lowly Washington Wizards have lost six consecutive games while failing to cover the spread for NBA sports betting backers in five straight.

The hottest ATS team in the Western Conference may surprise NBA wagering enthusiasts as the Oklahoma City Thunder (16-12 ATS) have gone a blistering 4-1 ATS in their last five despite winning just once the last ten times they’ve taken the court.

The Utah Jazz (16-13 ATS) have covered the spread in three of their last five but ended their week with a disheartening road loss to the young Chicago Bulls (13-14 ATS) after beginning it with a loss to the Celtics.

The hottest team in the West would be the New Orleans Hornets (10-11-2 ATS) who have won four consecutive games. While New Orleans is winning on the court, bettors need to be careful when wagering on Hornets’ contests as they have covered the spread just twice in their last five games.

Another team that may be starting to come together after an inconsistent, injury-filled start is the Houston Rockets, (14-13 ATS) winners of three straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook. Houston has covered the spread in three of its last five contests.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Minnesota Timberwolves (9-17 ATS), the worst ATS team in the league, have gone from bad to worse, mired in the midst of a 12-game losing streak. Minnesota has covered the spread just once in their last five games.

The Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings have also dropped three consecutive games heading into Week 8.
