Toronto Raptors vs. Chicago Bulls Preview

The Raptors travel south of the border, well their border of Canada, as they face the Bulls, who are looking to wrap up the top-seed in the Eastern Conference with the post-season approaching.

(At time of writing on Friday the Bulls play on Friday night while the Raptors have the night off).

The Bulls have been one of the best betting teams on the season at 46-26-2 ATS while the same cannot be said about the Raptors at 31-41-2 ATS.

As of Friday the Bulls are coming off a win and are 8-2 in their last 10 games and the Raptors are reeling losers of 5 straight. The main reason the Raptors are losing is because of their defense, which has given up an average of 114.6 ppg in their 5-game losing streak.

The Bulls only rank 20th in the league in scoring, but their D ranks 2nd in the league in opponents’ points allowed. The Bulls also rank 2nd in rebounds per game led by Joakim Noah (11 rpg) and Carlos Boozer (Carlos Boozer 9.5 rpg) and this duo will be a major handful for the Raptors. Toronto must man-up as a team and keep this duo from killing them on the glass. NBA Betting

Since the Raptors’ defense has been so bad they will have to score to win and they will need big games on offense from Andrea Bargnani (21.8 ppg), DeMar DeRozan (16.6 pg), and Leandro Barbosa (13.2 ppg). Not only will that be tough on a solid Chicago defense, but also Bargnani and Barbosa are banged up, but each should start in this game.

There is hope for the Raptors though, as they won their last game against Chicago 118-113 in the end of February and in that gave the Raptors shot lights out shooting 58.1% from the field and they may have to repeat that performance to win this game.

Derrick Rose (25 ppg 7.9 assists per game) is the front-runner for the MVP award and the Raptors have to keep him from getting into the lane and scoring.

The Bulls are simply way to good on both ends of the court and they win this game and cover the big spread.

Betting Trends

Toronto is 3-12 ATS in their last 15 road games and they have an Under record of 8-3 in their last 11 road games against teams with a winning home record. Chicago is 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 home games, 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games against teams with a winning percentage below 40%, and has an Over record of 6-1 in their last 7 games.

Pick: Bulls
