NBA Betting – TNT doubleheaders coming to an end

Even those playing Final Four odds are familiar with TNT’s weekly doubleheader, and with the season in the midst of the stretch run to the playoffs, there won’t be many doubleheaders left. This Thursday features a foursome of teams that will be in the postseason, as Orlando heads to Dallas, while Portland travels to Denver.

Magic vs Mavericks odds – Thursday, April 1, 8:00 PM ET

The Mavericks should be favored at home in your best online sportsbook, and they’ll be going for the season sweep after a 95-85 win in Orlando on February 19th, behind 23 points from Dirk Nowitzki, while the Magic got 29 points and 16 rebounds from Dwight Howard.

The Mavericks play on Wednesday night in Memphis, which may give Orlando a bit of an edge, and the Magic are coming off a brilliant March, in which they went 12-2.

Both teams still have a lot to play for, as the Magic are trying to clinch the Southeast division with Atlanta nipping at their heels, while the Mavericks have taken advantage of a slumping Denver team to take the second spot in the West behind the Los Angeles Lakers, but they have Utah and Phoenix trying to chase them down.

In what could be a possible Finals preview, take the Mavericks at home.

Also on tap for TNT Thursday night…

Trailblazers vs Nuggets odds – Thursday, April 1, 10:30 PM ET

Basketball betting odds should favor the Nuggets at home, where they are 30-6, and they’ll be ecstatic to be home after going 1-4 on a road trip through the east.

The Trailblazers have won eight of their last nine, including their last two on the road, but they have lost four of their last five in Denver. The Nuggets have won three of their four meetings with the Trailblazers this season, but they have to figure out a way to deal with the loss of coach George Karl, who is undergoing cancer treatments.

They also need Kenyon Martin back as the injured power forward is their best perimeter player and furthermore, he is the player that sparks the team vocally. This means more of a load on Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony, but they won’t help the interior defense. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

The Trailblazers have a three-headed monster in Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge and Andre Miller who have been lighting it up lately, and Marcus Camby is holding it down on the boards, averaging 14.4 in his five games, and he’ll want to have a big game against the team that traded him to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Nuggets just don’t have it right now, while the Trailblazers are on a roll, and that will continue on Thursday. Go with the Trailblazers on the road in your sports betting picks.

THURSDAY NIGHT BEST NBA PARLAY BET:

The 201.5 O/U seems a bit light. The Nuggets can’t seem to figure out whether they want to win by controlling tempo or pushing the ball, but they’ve given up a lot of points since Martin has been out. The last two games against the Blazers have produced 214 and 203, and with the Nuggets energized by their first home game in 12 days, they don’t figure to walk the ball up the court.

For a possible parlay, lay the points along with the over in the Magic/Mavs game.
