March Madness isn’t the only game in town tonight with a good TNT Doubleheader in addition to the L.A. Lakers (-8.5) at Detroit.

Miami (+5.5) at Chicago – 8 pm ET

Miami (38-33, 33-38 ATS) has the same number of losses as Philadelphia and is situated in the number five slot in the Eastern Conference. With 11 games left in the season, they have a slight chance to catch Atlanta (down three games) and move up to 4th spot and home court advantage in the first round.

The Heat don’t want to slip to 6th, as they would rather take their chance with Atlanta in the first round, then having to go up against Boston or Orlando right off the bat.

Chicago (34-38, 36-34-2 ATS) will attempt to distance themselves from NBA posers for the 8th position. The Bulls have won five of six (4-2 ATS) to pull away from Charlotte, Milwaukee and New Jersey and are within two games of Detroit.

Chicago has won and covered eight of their last nine home games, with the only loss to the Lakers. They are 10-3-1 ATS facing teams with winning records, but could be without their major catalyst Derrick Rose, who injured his wrist Monday night. If he’s unable to go, Kirk Hinrich is a very capable replacement.

The Bulls are 9-3-1 Over the Total at the United Center. Miami lost at Indiana last night and is 8-3 Over and 1-6 ATS with no rest between games.

Phoenix (+6.5) at Portland – 10:30 pm ET

Phoenix (40-31, 30-40-1 ATS) has risen from the ashes and given fans hope with a blazing six-game winning streak. Their mission is to be within a game or two of 8th place Dallas by April 5th and take their chances when they meet.

The Suns have covered five times during this streak but starting tonight, will play seven of their remaining nine contests on the road.

Portland (44-27, 36-34-1 ATS) is currently holding down the 7th position in the West. The Blazers are 9-5 and 8-6 ATS since February 27th, not hurting or helping themselves too much.

Portland is off just their seventh home loss in 35 games against Philadelphia, 114-108 on Monday, and they are 8-0 ATS at home after a game when both teams scored 105 or more points.

These teams have met three times this year with the home team winning and covering each time.

The Total is 221.5 and the Suns are 13-5 Over revenging a same season loss.
