HORNETS vs. NUGGETS

Time: Thursday 9:30 ET
Venue: Pepsi Center, Denver
Spread: Nuggets -14
Over/Under: 214.5

Team records:
New Orleans: 33-36 SU, 31-37-1 ATS
Denver: 46-22 SU, 31-32-5 ATS

Denver is on a collision course with Dallas in the West.

Both teams are at 46 wins and neither has a chance to catch the Lakers for the top spot, so all they need to do is take care of the bottom-feeders on the schedule.

That starts tonight for the Nuggets at home against the Hornets, whose season was destroyed by the early-February injury to PG and leading scorer Chris Paul.

NO is 7-14 since Paul went down.

In their most recent games the Hornets were defeated 131-121 by Golden St. David West tossed in a game-high 36 points to go with 15 rebounds for a double-double in the loss.

For Denver Melo poured in 29 points and 12 boards in a 97-87 victory over Washington.

THURSDAY NIGHT BEST NBA PARLAY BET:

There is a bit of a rivalry among the two Florida teams, but nothing too serious. Orlando has shown signs that it is not too interested in playing with Cleveland-type intensity, and the Magic are pretty much locked into the No. 2 seed in the East. Miami needs this one a little more, so the Heat +2.5 would be a possible play. The Nuggets have 7 wins in the last 8 games, finishing fast for the second straight year.

But 14 is a thick line, and the over looks more enticing as both teams have scored in double figures regularly since the All-Star break.
