The Dallas Mavericks ended a six-game losing streak Wednesday and will attempt to defeat a division-leading team for the second consecutive night when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Thursday.

Chicago is coming off an 83-82 home loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday, just three days after a dramatic home victory over the Miami Heat. The loss dropped the Bulls’ home record to 18-4. Chicago is expected to be without forward Carlos Boozer for a third straight game due to an ankle injury.

Dirk Nowitzki is back from a knee injury and Dallas once again has a deep bench. Nowitzki had 14 points against the Lakers in his third game back but he was only the Mavericks’ fourth-best player as point guard Jason Kidd and reserves Jason Terry and Shawn Marion led the way. Only San Antonio (23-2), Boston (20-3) and Denver (19-4) have better home records than Chicago’s 18-4 mark.

Dallas is 12-6 on the road, even with the Celtics for the league’s second-best road mark. Only San Antonio (13-4) has lost fewer road games.

Chicago dominated the boards in their Nov. 19 meeting, finishing with a 59-34 rebounding edge. The Bulls are 8-1 SU in its last 9 games at home, and 19-6 SU in their last 25 games.

Betting Trends:

Over is 9-2 in DAL last 11 vs. Eastern Conference.
Over is 19-7 in DAL last 26 vs. NBA Central.
Under is 10-4 in DAL last 14 Thu. games.
Under is 14-6-1 in CHI last 21 Thu. games.
Under is 13-6 in CHI last 19 home games.
DAL are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Chicago.

Best bets: The Trail Blazers are starting to figure out what life without Brandon Roy (surgery on both knees) is all about. Portland is holding out hope that Roy will be back this season after having both knees cleaned out, and in the meantime the offense will revolve around the inside game of LaMarcus Aldridge.

Aldridge has averaged 29 a game in three consecutive Blazer wins – over New Jersey, Minnesota and Sacramento. None of those three has anything resembling the tornado that is Blake Griffin, however, and the Clippers are no longer road pushovers. LA +3 is the pick there.

In the opener of the TNT doubleheader, look for the Bulls (-3.5) to bounce back big from a loss to Charlotte with a big win over reeling Dallas.
