WIZARDS vs. RAPTORS
Time: Saturday 7:00 ET
Venue: Air Canada Centre, Toronto
Spread: OFF
Over/Under: OFF
So after all the dust settles in downtown Washington, Caron Butler is gone and Antawn Jamison is gone, and the the only one left is . . . Gilbert Arenas?
The Wizards really don’t know what to do with the gunslinger and he won’t be back until next season at the earliest (assuming he’s not in jail), but in the meantime there are 30 more games to deal with, starting with tonight’s game at Toronto.
With the Big Three Experiment blown to more than smitherines, GM Ernie Grunfeld said the team had grown stale and needed to go in another direction. What direction that might be is hard to tell. Zydrunas Ilgauskas, acquired in the Jamison deal with Cleveland, is on board but won’t be playing in Toronto. That means Washington will send a bunch of glorified D League players onto the court Saturday night.
So what’s left on the plate?
Josh Howard came over in the Butler deal, but it’s been a while since he really cared about anything more than drawing a paycheck. Randy Foye will get serious minutes and knock down a few jump shots, and Andray Blatche showed some promise with 33 points and 13 rebounds in a post-trades win over Minnesota.
But there’s really not much to cheer about in the nation’s capital, and a season that already seems longer than a car loan will seem like eternity for the final two months.
Still, the Wizards deserve some credit from winning two straight (home games against Minnesota and Denver) since the trading deadline frenzy, and after Saturday night’s game there are three more in a row at home in a relatively benign schedule through the first week of March.

SATURDAY NIGHT BEST NBA BET:
Fading the Wizards is in order here. Toronto has been one of the best teams in the league over the last month and just has too many horses, even if Chris Bosh is unable to play due to an ankle injury.

Boston is showing some signs of life with a couple of big wins so the Raptors need this game just to keep pace in the Atlantic division.
