Mavs vs. Warriors NBA Pick | Preview (Mar. 27)

NBA Betting – Saturday Night Picks – Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors

Before nba betting fans turn their attention to more sports betting events this weekend, we have the NBA. It’s time for our weekly Saturday Night hoops picks for NBA gambling action.

Mavericks vs Warriors

Time: Saturday 10:30 ET
Venue: Oracle Arena, Oakland
Spread: Mavericks -4
Over/Under: 234.5

Team records:
Golden State: 19-49 SU, 39-28-1 ATS
Memphis: 36-33 SU, 35-33-1 AT

This is probably the final go-around for Don Nelson. The Warriors have 10 games left after tonight’s game against the Mavs, and in the hoopla over the playoffs and the impending free agency of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, the career and contributions of Nelson will likely get short shrift.

Three times – twice with the Bucks, once with the Warriors – Nelson was the league’s coach of the year. He was the first coach to use a point forward (Paul Pressey with Milwaukee), which allowed the team to operate without a true point guard and at the same time created backcourt matchups for opponents when he used Sidney Moncrief and Craig Hodges off the ball.

Hack-a-Shaq was his idea, and along with its cousins Hack-a-Howard and Hack-a-Perkins, survives and thrives today.

Nelson has had two runs at Golden State. His first, in the 1990s, produced excellent teams and 50-win seasons, but ended when he locked horns with Chris Webber.

Trying to re-create those run-and-gun days with Monta Ellis, Stephen Jackson and Stephen Curry hasn’t quite worked out, and GS will finish this season with about 22-23 wins and in last place in the Pacific Division.Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

In mid-May Nelson will turn 70 years old, and on the bench these days he looks every bit of it.

The NBA he knew as a player with the great Celtics teams of the 1960s and ’70s is something else now, and the Douglas MacArthur of NBA coaches looks more than ready to call it a day.

Betting Trends:

The total has gone OVER in 8 of Golden State’s last 9 games
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Dallas’s last 5 games when playing on the road against Golden State
The total has gone OVER in 5 of Golden State’s last 5 games at home
Golden State is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games at home
Golden State is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 games when playing at home against Dallas
Dallas is 15-4 SU in its last 19 games
Dallas is 5-2 ATS in its last 7 games on the road
Dallas is 5-2 SU in its last 7 games on the road

Mavericks vs. Warriors Free Pick: So it comes down to this – are the Mavericks interested in going all out to win 7 or 8 of their last 10 games and grab the 3rd or 4th seed in the playoffs and the home-court edge that goes with it? Every Dallas starter is over the age of 30, and if Rick Carlisle pushes the accelerator too hard, how much gas will there be when the playoffs start? Dallas fans remember last year all too well, when the Mavs were crushed by Denver in the first round of the playoffs after Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd got no rest down the stretch. The guess here is that the Mavs will go hard for a few more games and see where they stand at the end of the week before cutting minutes.

Giving 4 looks reasonable here.
