San Antonio Spurs vs. Sacramento Kings Preview

Tonight in a Western Conference match up between the team with the best record in the league facing a team headed for the draft lottery, yet again, the Sacramento Kings (12-34) host the San Antonio Spurs (41-8). NBA lines have the visiting Spurs as 4.5-point favorites with a total of 198.

In their last games the Spurs beat the Los Angeles Lakers 89-88 last night while the Kings lost to the Boston Celtics 95-90 on Tuesday.

This season the Spurs have been a great betting team going 29-18-2 ATS while the same cannot be said about the Kings who are 19-26-1 ATS. The Spurs have only covered the spread twice in their last 7 games in Sacto.

The Kings are 4-6 in their last 10 games and the Spurs are 8-2 in their last 10 games and have won their last 10 games against the Kings.

The Kings have the 2nd worst record in the Western Conference, but they have gained some confidence by recently beating the Lakers and the Hornets. NBA Betting

The Spurs are on a current 9-game road trip and in their first 2 games they have struggled on the offensive end of the court shooting below 43% from the field in both games. They will have to play good D tonight on the young duo of PG Tyreke Evans (17.5 ppg) and rookie PF DeMarcus Cousins (13.7 ppg 7.7 rpg), who each had 20 points in their last loss to Boston. Cousins has been on fire averaging 24 ppg on 52.7% shooting in the Kings last 3 games.

The Kings have issues on defense only ranking 20th in the league in opponents’ points allowed. However, in their last 5 games they have stepped up not allowing opponents to break the 100-point barrier. They will have their hands full tonight against a Spurs’ team that ranks 6th in the league in scoring and has many scoring options led by Manu Ginobili (18.8 ppg) and Tony Parker (17.3 ppg).

The Kings are a solid team on the boards ranking 7th in the league in rebounds per game and for them to pull off the upset they will have to get some easy buckets off offensive rebounds.

The Kings are young and they may have to get out and run to win tonight. Their D has to play well in the half-court game and hope San Antonio continues to struggle with their shots.

The Kings are playing better as of late, but they do not match up well with the Spurs. San Antonio will continue their dominance over Sacramento and win this game and cover the 4.5-point spread.

Betting Trends

Sacramento is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and San Antonio is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games.

Pick: Spurs -4.5
