Wednesday NBA odds: Spurs at Magic

Team records:
San Antonio: 40-25 SU, 34-30-1 ATS
Orlando: 47-21 SU, 35-30-3 ATS

Denver is one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, but the Rockets have picked up their play recently. They meet Monday night in Houston, with the Nuggets a 3.5-point favorite at the sportsbook.

Matchup: Nuggets at Rockets

Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
Venue: Amway Arena
Spread: Magic -7
Over/Under: 194

Orlando (47-21, 35-30-3 ATS) had an eight-game winning streak snapped when it lost 96-89 to Charlotte on Sunday. Still, the Magic are on an impressive roll straight up, having won 18 of their past 23 games. Orlando has been solid if unspectacular against the spread, covering three of its past four games and going 6-4 on NBA odds over its last 10 outings. Playing at home has yielded the exact same results; Orlando is 6-4 ATS in its last 10 games at Amway Arena.

Dwight Howard was dominant in the loss to Charlotte. The All-Star center racked up a double-double with a team-high 27 points and 16 rebounds. It was help from the rest of his teammates that was in short supply; while Vince Carter and Mickael Pietrus scored 23 and 20 points, respectively, nobody else on the team netted more than six. Generally the offense has been on fire, though—Orlando averaged 108.1 points per game during its eight-game winning streak.

San Antonio (40-25, 34-30-1 ATS) has ripped off four consecutive victories. The Spurs played Tuesday night, picking up an 88-76 win over the Miami Heat. San Antonio has been especially impressive on NBA odds, however—the Spurs are an incredibly 8-0 in their past eight games against the spread. They’ve been just as sharp on the road, winning five straight against the spread in their past five games away from home. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

The Spurs, on the other hand, have been getting the job done on defense. They haven’t allowed an opponent to crack triple digits in eight straight games, surrendering just 88.5 points per game in that span. Not surprisingly, San Antonio is 7-1 in those games. Offensively, Manu Ginobili has picked up his play. Even with a six-point night against the Timberwolves in the mix, Ginobili is averaging 21.6 points per game over his last five outings (he’s averaging 14.8 per game on the season).

The Magic and Spurs haven’t played each other this season. They’ve met six times since 2007, splitting those games straight up and against the spread. Orlando came out on top 105-98 when they met in January 2009.

Spurs vs. Magic Free PICK

Both teams are playing exceptional right now, but the Spurs have been especially good on the road. Playing back-to-back nights is tough but, considering how smothering the “D” is right now, San Antonio should be able to limit Orlando.
