Team records:
San Antonio: 50-31 SU, 44-36-1 ATS
Dallas: 54-27 SU, 35-44-2 ATS

Wednesday marks the final day of the NBA regular season. The game is very important for the Spurs and Mavericks, as they’re still jockeying for positioning—and could wind up facing each other in the first round of the NBA playoffs. They match up Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Matchup: Spurs at Mavericks

Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
Venue: American Airlines Center
Spread: Dallas -7
Over/Under: 196.5

Dallas (54-27, 35-44-2 ATS) is turning up the heat to close out the season. The Mavericks are riding a four-game winning streak. Most impressively, the last three victories all came on the road, including Monday’s 117-94 victory over the Clippers. Dallas is making things happen at the sportsbook, too. Big D is 7-3 against the spread in its last 10 games, including four straight victories on NBA odds. Be wary of American Airlines Center, though—Dallas is just 2-7-1 against the spread in its last 10 home games.

The Mavericks look absolutely unstoppable right now. Yes, they’ve played mostly creampuffs over their past four outings, but you can’t argue with an 18.3 average win margin—Dallas is taking care of business. The offense looks sharp with 109 points per game during the win streak, and much thanks belongs to Dirk Nowitzki. The big German has shaken off a slump to crank out 31.2 points per game during his last five contests.

San Antonio (50-31, 44-36-1 ATS) is coming off a 133-111 romp over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The win improved the Spurs to 6-2 in their past eight outings. San Antonio has been just as good to sports betting fans by matching that run with a 6-2 record against the spread. Hitting the road shouldn’t faze the Spurs much, either; they’ve covered six of their last 10 games against the spread when away from home, including three of four.Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

The Spurs offense is building some momentum, averaging 110.5 points per game in its last six wins. No one person deserves too much of the credit, as it’s largely been a team effort. In fact, over the past eight games, six different players have led the Spurs in scoring, ranging from stars to role players (Keith Bogans, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Roger Mason, Richard Jefferson and George Hill). Though Hill has been very respectable this season, the Spurs would like to see more from Tony Parker. Parker, who has missed 25 games this season, is averaging just 11.0 points per game in five contests since returning.

Dallas has dominated the head-to-head series between these squads. The Mavericks are 7-3 both straight up and against the spread in their last 10 games with San Antonio.

THE PICK

It should be an interesting game. Both teams will want to set the tone in case they meet in the first round of the playoffs, yet neither will want to overextend itself or overplay its hand. Regardless, the Mavs have history and home-court advantage in their favour—bet on Dallas.
