Dallas (18-4, 11-8-2 ATS) has steamrolled its way to 11 consecutive wins, including a 102-89 victory over New Jersey on Thursday. The Mavericks covered after two straight losses, improving to 7-2 ATS in their past in their past nine games.

Defense has been a major key to the run. The Mavericks rank among league leaders in fewest points allowed; in fact, opponents have topped the century mark against Dallas just five times all season—although two of those came in the last three games. Dallas hasn’t allowed more than 103 points in a single game all year. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

The Mavericks haven’t been quite as potent at the other end of the floor, at least not as much as recent years. They rank in the second-half of the NBA in scoring, but still have one of the best closers in Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki is having an incredible year—he’s shooting 56 percent on the season and has been absolutely on fire over his last five games, making 62 percent of his shots from the field.

Utah (16-7, 13-9-1 ATS) has stumbled a bit, losing two of three before Friday’s late-night match up with the Magic. During a recent seven-game winning streak, the Jazz were relying on a rock-solid offense that delivered at least 100 points in every win. Since then, the Jazz have averaged just 91 points in their last three games. It’s no wonder Utah has lost three straight against the spread.

Turnovers were a major handicap in Wednesday’s loss to Cleveland. Utah gave the ball away seven times in the fourth quarter, including three by the usually reliable Deron Williams.

Injuries are also beginning to mount. The team was already without centers Mehmet Okur and Kyrylo Fesenko, but now Raja Bell (adductor strain) and Andrei Kirilenko (quadriceps) are in doubt.

This has been a very even series, with the teams splitting their past 10 games against each other (Utah is 6-4 ATS). Utah’s offensive struggles are concerning, but the club is due for a breakout, even against Dallas’ superb unit. The Jazz are also excellent on the road (6-2-1 ATS) while Dallas hasn’t been so brilliant at home (4-6-2 ATS). If Bell and Kirilenko can go, pick Utah. Otherwise, side with Dallas.

NBA Trends:

UTA are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
DAL are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
Under is 16-6-1 in DAL last 23 home games.
DAL are 14-35-3 ATS in their last 52 home games.
Home team is 21-6-1 ATS in the last 28 meetings.
Over is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings in Dallas.
